For a new construction home, should we install the pocket door frame before or after warmboard install?

Hi, For a new construction home, should we install the pocket door frame before or after warmboard install? My husband thinks the door frame must be attached to the floor (in addition to wall studs and header), but we’d want to install the frame before drywall, and we were originally thinking we’d install the warmboard *after* the drywall. He’s thinking maybe he could install the door now, then drywall, then slide the warmboard in underneath. What order do you recommend? Thanks!

Good morning. Here’s some information which should help with your question. If using Warmboard-S, this product would be the entire subfloor, in which case everything would come after. But in this instance, it sounds like perhaps you would be using the Warmboard-R panel installed over concrete or subfloor, even though this would be new construction.

To answer your question it would be best practice to frame for the Pocket door and all interior walls first, then install the Warmboard-R (after framing), and finally install PEX tubing and then sheetrock.

Hope that helps. But please feel free to call and we’ll be happy to go over the specifics with you. 877.338.5493
