Support

Welcome to the support page for the Warmboard Comfort System (WCS). Before proceeding, ensure any suggested resolutions shown on your thermostats have been followed. The suggestions below aim to provide more complete detail to help remedy a system alert.

(Note: If the issue you are experiencing is unrelated to any messages on your thermostat, call our Technical Department at 1.800.775.5591)

Manifold Controller (MC) Alert

OVERVIEW:
If you see this alert on your thermostat it can often be resolved by restarting your MC. It’s a simple procedure of locating & restarting each Manifold Controller by unplugging and re-plugging its power cord. Also below are some other great tips to get you going. Let’s get started!

  • An MC is a small gray box mounted near each of your manifolds. Locate all gray boxes labeled “MC”; these are often found in garages, basements or closets behind access panels. Follow these steps to remedy your alert.
  • RESTART YOUR MC’s: Unplug the power cord from the wall, wait 30 seconds, then plug back in. Repeat for each MC in your system.
  1. Once restarted, lights on your MC should strobe to signify a successful restart.
  2. If MC lights don’t strobe or flash after restarting the MC or the alert screen returns, contact Warmboard.

PRO TIP:
If no lights can be seen after an MC restart, verify the outlet has power. This can be accomplished simply by plugging another device into the outlet to ensure power is present.

MC ANTENNA:
Each MC has an adjustable black antenna.

    1. Ensure the antenna is securely attached. If no antenna is visible, contact Warmboard.
    2. Antenna orientation can help! If your home is mostly horizontal and flat, point the antenna vertically. If the home is tall, rotate the antenna to a horizontal position. Once complete, we recommend adjusting all antennas (Warmsource boiler, all MCs and Bridge*) to a similar position to maximize range.

PRO TIP:
If the Alert on your thermostat has been dismissed and does not return, the issue should be considered resolved. However, if the alert returns or you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can reach our Technical Department at 1.800.775.5591.

Thermostat Alert

OVERVIEW:
Though not typical, thermostats may need help to reestablish their network connections. This is done by restarting some key system-components. The good news – it’s a simple fix. Below are some great tips to get you going. Let’s get started!

RESTART YOUR BOILER:

  1. Locate your Warmsource Boiler
  2. Restart your boiler: Unplug from the wall, wait 30 seconds then plug back in. This will reset your connection from the boiler to the Thermostat.
  3. If this doesn’t reconcile your thermostat alert(s), proceed to step 2.

RESTART ALL THERMOSTAT(s) DISPLAYING THE “Thermostat Alert” SCREEN.

  1. In circumstances where an alert remains or returns a few hours later, we recommend a thermostat restart. To initiate a thermostat restart, simply grip the thermostat on the sides and pull firmly to remove. Wait 30 seconds and plug back in.

PRO TIP:
Your Warmsource Comfort System has built-in intelligence where in the event the thermostat loses network connection, your system can utilize other nearby thermostats to keep your whole system heating (cooling as needed). If the alert on your Thermostat either self-dismisses or is dismissed and does not return, the alert should be considered resolved. However, if an alert keeps returning, feel free to call our Technical Department at 1.800.775.5591.

Actuator Alert

OVERVIEW: An actuator is the physical device which opens or closes the flow of water to areas the Thermostat has determined need heat (or cooling if applicable). On rare occasion an Actuator can fail or become unplugged from its MC prompting this alert. Below are some great tips to get you going. Let’s get started!

  1. GO TO THE THERMOSTAT DISPLAYING THE ACTUATOR ALERT
    1. Tap thermostat screen
    2. Click Icon
    3. Settings
    4. Support
    5. Select “Test Zone” and follow the onscreen instructions
  2. LOCATE THE MC WHERE ACTUATOR LED’s ARE ILLUMINATED*
    1. ENSURE ALL ACTUATORS ARE FULLY PLUGGED INTO THEIR MC(s)
      1. TIP: Plugs will click-in when fully seated
  3. TWO OUTCOMES
    1. Once the above test has started, after 5-10 minutes all non-blinking lights on your MC should have toggled from “Green” to “Blue.” If so, you should consider your actuator alert resolved.
    2. If the actuator alert returns to your thermostat OR any “NON-BLINKING” LED’s remain “Green” on your MC, your actuator may have failed. Call Warmboard for further assistance.

PRO TIP: If you have verified that an actuator has become unresponsive, feel free to disconnect the actuator from the manifold. This helps because a loop without an actuator will get flow if any other zone(s) in your system turn on. In either case when time allows, give our Technical Department a call at 1.800.775.5591 or email support@warmboard.com and we can work toward next steps.

*If you have multiple Warmsource boilers, feel free to call for additional assistance.
