SRC Firmware Update

Updating the Smart Reset Controller (SRC) when there is no Internet is available on a jobsite will require following one of the methods below:

  1. SD card update: A Warmboard-provided SD card can be used to directly update the Comfort System controls. This can be done without the assistance of a Warmboard support technician.
  2. Phone Wi-Fi hotspot: By creating a Wi-Fi hotspot with the correct credentials, the SRC can connect to the Internet and be remotely updated with the assistance of a Warmboard support technician.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

The SRC is located within the Warmsource. Make sure the Warmsource is accessible and power is available on the jobsite.

If Warmsource is still in its crate, the unit can remain in the crate during the process. Simply open the crate, save the packaging materials and use an extension cord for power.

If the SRC was shipped separately from the Warmsource, first install the SRC into the Warmsource with the instructions provided with the controls package.

If performing an SD card update, the microSD card will be packaged with its own USB adapter. The microSD card can be found inserted into the adapter for protection during shipping (see below).

microSd card for SRC firmware update

METHOD 1: SD CARD UPDATE

Note: if this update is from 1010 to 5.1.1, then you may skip step 8. Warmboard staff will inform you if this is necessary for your project.

  1. Remove the lower cabinet door of the Warmsource by firmly grasping the sides of the door and pulling out.
  2. Locate the SRC (white controller) inside the Warmsource. Find the micro SD card slot along the bottom edge of the SRC (see image below for detail).
  3. Remove the microSD card from its USB adapter and packaging.
  4. If the Warmsource is currently powered, unplug the power cord (the cord leaving the bottom of the Warmsource unit).
  5. Insert the microSD card into the slot on the bottom of the SRC, directly to the right of the Ethernet port. The card should click when it is fully seated in its slot.
  6. Plug the Warmsource power cord back into the outlet.
  7. Allow the SRC to start up.
  8. When the screen displays “Remove SD Card,” press the microSD card to eject it from the slot, then immediately press the card fully back into place. NOTE: The SD card must be in the slot before the SRC resets. If the SD card is not plugged in before reset, unplug the Warmsource, and restart the process at step 6.
  9. When the screen displays “Remove SD Card,” press the microSD card to eject it from the slot. Do not reinsert the SD card.
  10. Allow the SRC to complete its start-up procedure.
  11. When the main menu appears on the display, the Warmsource may be removed from power.
