MC Error

Error Code E9: MINOR
A Manifold Controller is not communicating via the local network. The related zones may not function until the condition is corrected. Contact your HVAC professional for assistance.

Solution:

A Manifold Controller (MC) is not communicating as expected through the wireless network. As a result, zones impacted by this MC will not function correctly until the issue is resolved. Refer to your thermostat’s error message to identify the affected components. Unit power and antennas may need to be checked to resolve the issue. Contact an HVAC professional or Warmboard technical support for further assistance.

Locations of Manifold Controllers can be found in the WCS plan set. Manifolds are generally found near other mechanical equipment or in a cabinet, which is often built into the back of a closet or a comparable location. Each manifold is accompanied by a Manifold Controller, which is a small, white box with a handful of lights and connected actuators.

Check power: Check to see if the MC has power. Unplug the black power cord to the MC for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If this does not resolve the issue, confirm it is not a larger electrical issue in this part of the house.

Adjust Antenna: Warmboard MC’s have two antennas: one for LoRa communication used during general operation and one for WiFi communication used during updates. The LoRa antenna is the longer antenna found on the side of the MC. Ensure the antenna is securely fastened to the MC. The antenna may also benefit from being adjusted.

Communication through antennas is always stronger when antennas are oriented in the same exact direction. For example, when two antennas are at a 45-degree angle while pointed Northwest. If possible, adjust the antennas so they are oriented similarly to the LoRa antenna at the Warmsource. In installations where a house is short with a large footprint, a vertical position is best. When a house is tall with a small footprint, a horizontal position is best.
