E2
Boiler Overheat
Error Code E2: CRITICAL
Supply sensors indicate the water temperature is greater than 150F. As a result, the system will not heat until the condition is corrected. Contact your HVAC professional for assistance.
Solution:
The boiler supply temperature has exceeded 150°F for an extended period of time. To protect the flooring from overheating, the Warmsource will wait until the condition has cleared before attempting to heat again. Insufficient system flow or an incorrect boiler setpoint may be responsible for the elevated temperature. Contact an HVAC professional or contact Warmboard technical support for further assistance.
System flow: At the manifolds, verify there is proper flow to each zone currently calling for heat. The manifold controller displays actuator statuses for the manifold, and the flow meters on the balance valves display flow for each loop. If flow is not present in loops that have been actuated, check for:
- Closed ball valves in the system
- Low system pressure
- Closed balance valves on the affected loop
If flow is present, ensure it meets or exceeds the designed flow rates found on the radiant design table in the WCS plan set.
Boiler setpoint: Confirm the boiler’s setpoint has not been changed from the preset 140°F. The boiler setpoint should always remain at 140°F; during operation, the Smart Reset Controller (SRC) adjusts water temperature within that limit to meet system demand. To set the boiler’s setpoint back to the Warmboard default setting, refer to the boiler’s Installation and Service Manual.
