Structural
Warmboard stands alone compared to all other radiant panels for the simple reason that it supplies structure as well as heat. This simple idea, unique to Warmboard, provides numerous efficiencies throughout construction. Starting with the fact that with Wamboard you install the radiant panel and the structural subfloor at the same time.
- Warmboard’s four modular panel types are all standard 4′ x 8′, 1 1/8″ thick tongue and groove.
- As a subfloor, Warmboard is rated by the APA and approved by the ICC-ES Report.
- Made from a premium grade of seven-layer plywood, Warmboard is stiffer and stronger than 3/4″ subfloor.
- Every panel is caliper sanded for more consistency in thickness than ordinary plywood.
- A modular pattern of 12″ on center channels is cut into the top surface. A thick sheet of highly conductive aluminum is stamped to match the channel pattern and is permanently bonded to each panel.
- Warmboard cuts easily with a carbide skill saw and nails or screws are used to fasten it in the ordinary way.
- Warmboard panels are rated Exposure 1, which in combination with the waterproof aluminum skin means our panels will withstand the elements better than most conventional plywood.
