Each year the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, Canada, hosts a Dream of a Lifetime Lottery in which a lucky family will win a home as part of a revenue-generating contest for the organization, according to the Ottawa Citizen.
Local construction companies and builders come together to donate materials for and build the house, which is often outfitted with the latest amenities and modern fixtures, reported the news source.
This year, the 21st annual contest was held for a $1.68 million residence, complete with four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a brand new car in the driveway. Proceeds from the raffle will go to help children at the hospital and to generate money for research projects, according to the Citizen.
The home will also feature LED lighting, a state-of-the-art wine room, a gas fireplace, deluxe furniture and a radiant heating system that was installed throughout the residence.
A radiant heating system can add to the value of a home, as the technology provides a quiet, comfortable warmth without needed unsightly radiators, heating ducts and air vents.
