Have you ever wanted to live like a celebrity? If yes, you may want to consider installing a radiant floor heating system in your home. The New York Post reports that actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has allegedly purchased a home in the Hamptons, and if the real estate listing is correct, the house has been outfitted with radiant floor heating.
Lopez reportedly has paid $10 million for the exclusive Water Mill estate that is near the Mecox Bay. According to the news source the house has been outfitted with a number of luxury features. Just renting the property costs $425,000 a day between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The eight-bedroom, seven-bath home has a sauna, steam room, theater and pool. To ensure that no one gets cold feet during the cooler evenings of summer, a radiant floor heating system was installed through out the property. The utility option is great both for celebs and for the average person. While J-Lo may not be interested in reducing her operational expenses on the day-to-day, you could want the same comforts and enjoy the return on investment with the system.
A radiant floor heating system uses conduction and thermal energy to transfer heat throughout an entire house. When combined with a high R-value insulation, a homeowner can save a significant amount of money even if they are using traditional energy sources like oil or gas. However, the system is also easily modified to run off renewable energy options.
In addition to being highly effective and cost savings, radiant floor heating is also environmentally friendly. Whether Lopez wishes to reduce her environmental impact or not, she could take comfort in the sustainability of this heating option with her new vacation home.
