Two tips for a divine kitchen makeover

The weather is finally nice in most parts of the country and you know what that means - it's time for a home makeover. The summer is the perfect time to begin a renovation project because you can use outdoor spaces for living if the need arises. This summer, consider the merits of renovating your kitchen to include the materials that will boost the value of your home.
While you may not be interested in selling your home in the near future, it's important to make decisions that will increase the value of the property when you do decide it is time to put it on the market. US News reported that although kitchen remodels typically only show a 66 percent return on investment, they are the first place a potential buyer will look. So, use the materials and technologies in the home that will improve the look and feel of the space. Here are two things to consider in your kitchen remodel:
1) New countertops. Because countertops represent the greatest flat surface in a kitchen, it's important that they are both functional and beautiful. The variety of materials used as countertops have increased in recent years and more property owners look for unique touches. If you're traditional, consider using granite, which is durable and trendy in almost any community across the nation. If you're looking for a more unique look, recycled glass could be the right solution for you.
2) Radiant floor heating. How much time does your family spend in the kitchen? For most people, the kitchen is a meeting area that people naturally congregate toward. Make the space comfortable for everyone with radiant floor heating. The technology will boost the warmth in the space in the cooler months and no food crumbs or spills will be able to accidentally end up in vents or radiators.
