No one likes waking up in the morning and walking across a chilled bathroom floor as they get ready for the day. It's a small inconvenience, but it's a true one that impacts a person's daily comfort. Homeowners are apparently taking control over their displeasure over cold bathroom floors and investing in radiant floor heating
According to the annual survey titled, "Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report for 2013," published in Remodelers Magazine, homeowners are looking to incorporate the use of the energy-efficient technology in their homes.
"The role of bathrooms has transitioned to one of comfort and luxurious moments; bathroom remodels are sought for providing a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Consumers are spending more time using their bathroom time for spa moments of peace and a place to unwind and prepare for life's busier activities," said Liz Sprenger, Destiny Homes lead home designer and part owner.
The research indicates that homeowners are not only curious about improving the comfort they feel when in a bathroom, they are also interested in equipping the space with more energy-efficient features. Recycled materials, efficient water usage taps and toilets and radiant floor heating systems are combining to create an oasis in the modern home.
The warmth slowly radiating through the floor is an attractive feature to many homeowners. According to Sprenger, properties in Minneapolis are increasingly being outfitted with radiant floor heat in the master bathroom. Even if other rooms in the house use more traditional heating solutions, homeowners are still outfitting their bathrooms with radiant floor heating. On a chilly winter day, individuals are finding the walking on heated flooring is the ideal way to start the day.
