The Fourth Annual Green Home Tour will be held on August 20 and hosted by the Environmental and Conservation Organization. Two of the houses that will be featured in the event will be in North Henderson County, North Carolina, WHKP Hendersonville reported.
Homes that will be showcased in the tour have demonstrated the efficient use of green technology along with sustainable living practices, reported the news source.
The two Hendersonville houses have used the latest technology to conserve energy and limit the costs of electricity, specifically heating and air conditioning. Both of the homes that were featured from this area utilize the benefits of radiant floor heating to accomplish this goal, according to WHKP.
Another reason for the Green Home Tour is to show residents that their houses can be made into a cost-effective eco-friendly residence, as some of the new technology may work to lower the electricity bill, the news source reported.
Radiant floor heating can allow homeowners to relax in a more comfortable atmosphere, as the systems are much more quiet than forced-air heat, according to Oregon Department of Energy.
