Brooklyn Brownstone Receives Much Needed Facelift and Warmboard Radiant Subfloors
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder many say and currently, New York based firm, Excel Builders and Renovators have begun to put life and charm back into a 19th century brownstone in Brooklyn.
This renovation project in Carroll Gardens began early this year and is expected to be completed in late fall 2007. All five units in this historical building are being over-hauled and special attention has been given in not only design and construction, but also to the details of comfort, and individuality, nothing has been sacrificed.
Each of the units will have its own unique finishing features, however all living spaces will be provided with radiant heating, with multiple zones coupled to individual Weil-McLain Ultra boilers and a seven-zone 22.5 ton Luxaire by York International 13 Split Cooling System.
Additionally, four of the five units will have gas-fireplaces. The building has also been updated with state of the art fire suppression system, a 20-year Kemper roof and Bonneville windows.
According to the Excel Builders and Renovators website, the Carroll Gardens location sets a tone of warmth and intimacy. Warmth is comfort and Excel Builders have spared no expense in making this a true statement, by implementing Warmboard Radiant Subfloors into this project.
Tony Gasparich, President of Warmboard Inc. says, “Warmboard radiant subfloor acts as both the radiant heat panel and a subfloor in one. It is a tremendous advantage for Warmboard to be placed in the brownstones to increase the warmth and comfort felt by the future occupants of these units during the chill of winter.”
Warmboard Inc. is located in Aptos, California and has been supplying warmth and comfort to homes across the globe since 1991. Warmboard radiant heat is considered a superior alternative to forced air heating systems and is an energy efficient product.
“One of the greatest additions to this building is the ability to retro-fit Warmboard radiant subfloors into this 19th century charmer.”
