While you might recognize Warmboard by its color, this is not the only “green” and sustainable part of Warmboard. We produce efficient, healthy products and are dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment. Below is a summary of what makes us green.
The unique, patented design of our panels make them the most energy efficient in the marketplace, allowing you to comfortably heat a home using the lowest water temperatures in the industry. This translates to much lower energy consumption and allows Warmboard to interface easily with solar thermal and geothermal technologies.

Choose Warmboard and contribute up to 15 LEED points in the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes green building rating.
Unlike forced air systems, radiant heating does not blow allergens or dust particles throughout a home. Improved indoor air quality reduces allergies, incidents of asthma and reduces dust mite populations by as much as 90%.
Little Product Waste
Our custom CAD design services maximize panel usage and minimize waste with each project. This reduces waste and cost and ensures more accurate shipments to the job site.
Our original Warmboard panel is a radiant heating system combined with an APA-approved structural subfloor. This reduces labor substantially and halves the number of necessary materials.

Responsible Forestry Practices
The wood used in our Warmboard Radiant Subfloor panel complies with the Oregon Forest Practices Act. The OSB in our Warmboard–R panel is harvested under similar guidelines in Canada.
The phenolic-based adhesives in our products are extremely durable, waterproof, and contribute only trace levels of formaldehyde to your home; well below levels considered safe by the most stringent standards. The U.S. Government asserts, "phenolic resin-bonded wood products do not cause significant formaldehyde related problems." Wood – Strong, Renewable, Resistant
Warmboard panels are extremely durable, resistant to warping, shrinking or twisting, and function as a superior structural subfloor in your home. Warmboard–R is made from a similarly strong 13/16" OSB composite. Environmentally, wood takes far less energy to produce than concrete, steel or cement. Wood is also renewable and has excellent insulation properties.
The 1060 aluminum alloy in our products contains at least 20% recycled aluminum and is the highest quality, most conductive alloy available. This elegantly engineered use of aluminum is the heart of our industry leading energy efficiency.
