Now that we’ve announced our new Warmsource and the Total Warmth System, we wanted to delve deeper into the idea of “Why”. Why this system? Why now?
Our approach here has always been to make products that make sense. To remove complexity and make products that work well and install easily, intuitively. It has always been our opinion that radiant heating is far too complex and expensive. We’re aiming to change that. We want the comfort and energy savings of radiant heat to be more accessible and more affordable.
Hydronic radiant heating has inherently been more expensive and more complicated than traditional forced air heating. In many installations a giant wall (or room) is used to house the various manifolds, piping, pumps, expansion tanks, valves, thermostats, etc. Wiring for the thermostats in each heating zone of the home has to be installed as well. All the bits and pieces needed to make the radiant heating system work are often overly complex, very costly and troublesome to maintain and operate.
Our solution was to engineer Warmsource - a hydronic heating appliance that is essentially plumb-and-play. It is as quick and easy to install as a conventional water heater and preplumbed with everything needed to supply the perfect water temperatures to every zone in your home.
Think of our new heating appliance like...an iPhone. When you buy an iPhone you turn it on and start using it. You don’t take it apart to see all the parts and pieces and you don’t worry about how it works. It just does.
That is how Warmsource was designed to be. It is purchased, installed by a licensed plumber, turned on and boom – your radiant floor heating system is running – efficiently, smoothly and simply.
Warmsource is also part of our Total Warmth System. This new offering provides everything needed to heat a home up to 3000 square feet, including heat loss designs, panel layouts, Warmboard panels, tubing, manifolds and the Warmsource heat source, providing consumers with a one-stop shop for their radiant heating needs. The Total Warmth System offers an integrated solution to provide ample heating and zones for any home while significantly decreasing installation costs of a traditional radiant heat system.
Terry Alsberg, CEO of Warmboard, explains, “In many ways, the radiant heat industry has been its own worst enemy when it comes to high premiums and complex product installations. As a leader in this industry, it was important for Warmboard to propel the industry forward and change the way we all do business, hence the innovation behind the Total Warmth System which features Warmsource. Homeowners, contractors and architects will no longer need to deal with multiple vendors to integrate radiant heat into their projects.”
In addition, the Total Warmth System includes custom wireless thermostats. This user-friendly, touch-screen thermostat can be installed throughout a customer’s home to easily control each zone. Unlike the installation of typical thermostats which is cumbersome, the wireless thermostat solution will dramatically reduce installation time and cost.
Alsberg continues, “Our goal with the Total Warmth System is to make radiant heat more accessible to a larger consumer audience. Radiant heat is an extremely energy-efficient heating solution that can reduce energy costs by 30% for the typical installation.”
Warmboard’s Total Warmth System’s energy-efficient design allows consumers to heat their homes using lower water temperatures and less energy. Moreover, the advanced zoning capabilities of the system allows consumers to heat each room in their home as they see fit—eliminating the need to heat unoccupied areas in the home.
With an innovative goal of making radiant heat more accessible to the masses, we have been able to take the complexity out of the mechanical room and design these functions into our Warmsource heating unit. Watch this to learn more.
